Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will soon have a new contract
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is a highly talented Georgian footballer, known for his electric dribbling, pace, and technical skills. Born on February 12, 2001, in Tbilisi, he plays primarily as a winger and has gained widespread attention for his performances with SSC Napoli in Serie A. Kvaratskhelia joined Napoli in 2022 and quickly became a key figure, contributing to their attacking prowess with goals and assists.
Nicknamed “Kvaradona” by Napoli fans, his flair and creativity make him a constant threat to defenses. He played a crucial role in helping Napoli win the Serie A title in the 2022-23 season. Kvaratskhelia is also a regular for the Georgian national team and is seen as a future star in European football.
With Kvaratskhelia now Napoli’s one and only star player with striker Victor Osimhen now out on loan to Turkish side Galatasaray for the entire 2024-25 football season, they need to make sure he doesn’t leave anytime soon.
Right now, Kvaratskhelia only makes €1.8 million which isn’t enough when you factor in the impact he’s had at Napoli, so he will need a raise in order to keep another club from swooping in and signing him.
There is a new report from La Repubblica via Tutto Napoli, that Napoli are close to signing start winger Kvaratskhelia to a new contract that will pay him €5.5-6 million a year along with bonuses. The contract will run until the end of the 2029 season. There is also a chance that a termination clause will be included.
During last season, Kvaratskhelia recorded 11 goals and 8 assists in Serie A. So far this season, he has recorded one goal and one assist during the first three matches of the current season. To say that he’s a pivotal player for Napoli is an understatement, they need to do whatever it takes to hold onto him going forward.
Update: (9/11/24): II Mattino is reporting (via Napoli Zone) that Napoli have offered Kvaratskhelia a raise up to 5 million euros that will extend his contract until 2029, but unfortunately there’s still a gap of 2.5 million euros between both sides. Now there is an expectation that a new deal will be done by the end of September.
Update (10/30/24): Sky (via Napoli Zone) is reporting that the two key issues with getting an extension done for Kkvara are his salary and a release clause. Napoli’s offer for a contract is €5 million rising to €8 million and no release clause. Then you have Kvara’s team who want a salary of €5 million rising to €8-9 million by year three or four and an €80 million release clause plus a commission on future sales.
Of course Napoli don’t want a release clause because a release clause means anyone could come in and buy Kvara without talking to Napoli.
