It’s hard to credit Napoli’s success to one particular player, but just like Romelu Lukaku, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Scott McTominay and others, midfielder Frank Anguissa is having himself a very good season so far for the Blues.
One club that’s noticing how well Anguissa is playing is Olympique Lyonnais of France’s Ligue 1and they wouldn’t mind adding him to their squad, according to Foot Mercato.
This report really doesn’t make sense since Lyon are now on transfer ban and could end up getting relegated from Ligue 1 due to doing a poor job with managing their finances. Right now they need to sell some players if anything, not buy new ones.
The value of 29 year-old Anguissa is currently 30 million euros. I would be surprised if Napoli ended up selling him after manager Antonio Conte blocked any potential moves this past summer with clubs like AS Monaco lurking. He could also be expendable after adding two younger midfielders in Billy Gilmour and Scott McTominay, who have both been playing well.
If Napoli change thier mind and want to sell Anguissa, they’ll need to do so this winter with his contract set to expire next summer. Clubs like Juventus, Villareal and Lyon could then sign him for free.
Anguissa actually played in France during his youth academy days with Reims and then moved to Marseille in 2015. He then played with them until 2018 which is when he made a move to Fulham. He then made the move to Naples in 2022.
Comment below and give us your thoughts on whether Napoli should sell Anguissa before his contract runs out at the end of the season?
