Rafa Marin heading back to Madrid?
For a second straight season Spanish giants Real Madrid are dealing some with injuries on the defensive side of the ball and it looks like they’re interested in bringing back defender Rafa Marin who now plays for Napoli, according to El Chiringuito reports (via Virgilio).
Marin made a 12 million euro move to Naples this past summer from Real Madrid after the 22 year-old played part of his youth career and the beginning of his senior career with Los Blancos. He was sent out on loan to Alaves for the 2023-24 season.
Real Madrid could attempt to acquire Marin on loan during the winter transfer window or execute the 25 million euro buy-back clause that they have. I don’t see why Napoli manager Antonio Conte wouldn’t be opposed to sending Marin back to Madrid given the fact that he’s only played one match this season for the Blues.
The only reason that losing Marin would not be a good thing for Napoli is if they were to suffer some injuries on the defensive side of the ball. Right now he provides depth that could be vital down the stretch of the season.
